First user who open the Agile Toolbox in a Jira issue, becomes automatically the room owner. He is able to configure the room (or update the configuration), set estimated story points or close the room.

Actions :

Save as default

This action allows to save current configuration to be saved as default. When user will open the configuration view and the room is not configured yet, then saved configuration will populate the fields in the form

Default configuration is saved in the scope of the user, project and issue type. It means that if user who previously saved the configuration will open the configuration view in the same project and issue type, then this configuration will be used, otherwise ( if different user opens the view or project or issue type will not match) default values will be used

Create room

By pressing the button, the room will be created using configured values. User will become an owner of the room

Choose card set

Select field configures the list of available voting cards in the room. Room Owner can choose the one from the predefined list :

  • 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 16, 20, 40

  • 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64

  • xxs, xs, s, m, l, xl, xxl

  • custom

Choosing the “Custom” value will enable an additional select field where Room Owner can define his card values (numeric values) by writing the number and pressing enter key.

Include question card to card set

When this checkbox is set, then an additional card with a question mark is added to the card list.

When the user chooses the “question mark” card or the voting card list will contains “non numeric” values, then the average estimation will not be calculated, room owner will have to set the value manually

 

Allow offline voting

Great feature for remote teams spread across many time zones. When this feature is enabled, then user’s estimate ( chosen card) is saved, even after user disconnection. Thanks to that team members don’t need to be online at the same time.

Allow change the room owner or configuration

Only the Room Owner can change the room configuration, reveal cards even when he is disconnected from the room. If this checkbox is set and Room Owner is not in the room ( he closed the plugin window or has some connectivity issues) anyone from the room can push the “Take control” button and take ownership of the room. In addition, anyone ( who has permission to the board view) can change the configuration in the Refinements section

Choose story point field

This field allows to choose the issue field in which a calculated estimation point will be saved by using “set points” button.

Why “default” Story Point field might not displayed here ? Custom Field needs to be set with both a Screen and a Context in order be editable by the Plugin. Please contact with your Jira admin in order to add the field to the Project screen

The plugin allows to quickly set the calculated story points in the issue field. During the configuration, the Room Owner can choose anyone from the issue fields (only with numeric type). If the field is configured, then the “Set points” button is available after the “revealing cards” action


Saving configuration

After defining all configuration properties, the room owner can create the room by pressing “Create room” button

 

Updating configuration

The room owner is able to update the room configuration by pressing “Change settings” button. After updating the configuration, current estimations will be reset.

 

Removing the room

If estimation is finished and room is no longer needed, room owner can press “Remove room” button and remove the configuration.
